What They Are Actually Like
There is no quieter way to put this: husky puppies are loud.
They are also stunning, surprisingly social, and capable of going from zero to dead asleep in about ninety seconds. Which is why, when we run husky-heavy classes at our San Francisco Financial District studio, we already know what the morning is going to be like before anyone arrives.
San Francisco is the only one of our four studios where huskies are currently part of class rotations. The breeder partner who supplies them is local, the studio space happens to suit the breed, and the demand has been quietly relentless ever since we ran the first one.
What a Husky Puppy Is Actually Like in Class
Five things you will probably see if you book a husky-featured session.
One: at least one of them will talk during the yoga half. Huskies are vocal. They are not barking — it is a whole separate vocabulary of howls, woos, and conversational noises that has charmed approximately every internet user alive. Most guests are surprised when they hear it for the first time.
Two: the eyes. Many huskies have those famous pale-blue eyes; some have one of each color. Plan to take photos.
Three: they will find the coolest spot in the room. Huskies were bred for snow. Even at studio temperature, they migrate toward the wood floor, away from people's body heat. If a husky puppy commits to lying on the floor instead of in your lap, do not take it personally — it is a breed thing.
Four: they are mat-stealers. The instructor will be in downward dog and a husky will be sprawled across her mat with the air of having found exactly where it meant to be.
Five: then they crash. A husky puppy goes from full-volume social butterfly to dead asleep with no warning. The transition is one of the most charming parts of the class.
Why San Francisco
The short answer: our breeder partner is in the Bay Area, and the Financial District studio happens to suit the breed.
Our SF studio at 222 Columbus Ave, Unit 220 has the right combination of cool air, hardwood floors, and good natural light. Huskies do better in cooler indoor temperatures, and our space is the only one in our four cities that consistently runs that way without active climate control.
It is also where the demand is. SF guests have been asking for breed-specific classes since we opened, and huskies have been the most-requested by name.

What to Wear (And Not to Wear)
A short, oddly specific list:
Wear: yoga pants, joggers, anything dark or patterned. Do not wear: fleece, fluffy sweaters, or anything you do not want fur on. Huskies shed. Even husky puppies, who you would think are too small to shed, shed.
You will leave with fur on you. That is the deal. Most guests find it endearing. Your jacket will become a long-term souvenir.
A Quick Note on the Breed
Siberian Huskies were originally bred by the Chukchi people in northeastern Siberia for endurance work. They are pack-oriented, athletic, and famously stubborn — which translates, in puppy form, to bold, social, and unbothered by new environments. That is precisely what makes them well-suited to puppy yoga as a socialization experience: they are confident enough to handle the stimulation without becoming overwhelmed.
How to Book a Husky-Featured Class
We do not always announce which breed is featured at which session in advance — class scheduling depends on which puppies are in the right age window in any given week. The closest thing to a tip we have: husky-heavy sessions tend to happen on weekends, and they sell out faster than most other class types.
